Founded in 2007, Khalifa University was established to support a knowledge-based economy that will contribute to the state’s post-oil future.
For their advanced medical training centre, we were commissioned to design three spaces to support hands-on simulation-based training for emergency service students.
The rooms included a 48 m2 space, a standard 4×4 classroom, and a unique 4-sided 64 m2 space that replicated outdoor scenarios.
A helicopter ambulance simulator was also deployed to allow students to train in that uniquely challenging environment.
Environments are then projected around the helicopter, creating a sense of motion and enhancing the believability of the simulation.
